Like so much else about Canvas, the PDF engine is very good and clean. They ask for Adobe PDFs but never blinked an eye at the Canvas PDFs. Love that program! This technique does not require a particular SW, so, I use Canvas 14 with PDF as 'transport' format or AI for bureaucratic clients. They tell what they want, RGB or CMYK, I ask for color proofs. After fighting so many times with the bureaus, it is the best way for me. (even with text), the results are as in screen considering the size, format, and material of the output. Regularly, with professional printings, I convert to TIFF when there are shadows, transparencies, reflections, etc. I have not printed with PL, I am starting to use it for Webdesign and photo edition, both with digital outputs and the results are good.
